- As we commemorate the 10th Anniversary of September 11th, we would like to encourage all teachers, staff, and students to wear RED, WHITE, or BLUE, tomorrow September 9th.
- The Japanese Culture and Anime Club will have their first meeting on Thursday, September 8th at 2:30PM in Mr. Rubi's room 5236. All are welcome.
- Need help with your school work? NHS can help. Come to tutoring on Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 in F Cafeteria. Remember to bring your own books.
- MLEC's E-2020 after school program is accepting registrations after school in student services department. Please see your guidance counselors for more information.
- Music Club members! Our 1st meeting will take place Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 2:30 p.m. in Mr. Oxidine’s room 6130. There will be no auditions for new members until the following week.
- The Hispanic Heritage Show is looking for singers, dancers, comedians, etc. Sign up is taking place in Room- 6205. ALL WELCOME!
- On Saturday, Sept.10, 2011 the Sickle Cell Disease Association, Miami-Dade Chapter is hosting its 32nd annual Sickle Cell Run/Walk. In addition to the Run/Walk there will be music, food, and a Community Health Fair. Up to 10 "health" community service hours can be earned. For details and registration information, see Mr. Ferguson in room 5225.
- The PSAT will be administered at MLEC on Wednesday, October 12th. Juniors who take this test and receive top scores nationally become eligible for college scholarships. The cost to take this test is $14. If you are interested, please see Ms. Ambas in room 5237 or Mr. Moffi in room 5229. If you have free or reduced lunch you may be eligible to take the test free or charge. However, you must sign up quickly as there are a limited number of fee waivers. The last day to pay is September 21st. Sophomores will also take this test free of charge as a practice. However, only juniors are eligible for scholarships.
- Please remember to turn in your note to excuse you absence; failure to provide the required documentation within three days upon your return to school will result in unexcused absence. Notes can be turned in to Student Services between the hours of 7:00 am and 7:15 am, during your lunch and after school from 2:20 – 3:00 pm.
