What do you think would happen if there was a spirit of kindness in every school? Do you think that we would hear less stories about bullying? Do you think that we would hear more stories about all of the positive things that are happening in our schools each day? Do you think that everyone would feel safe and welcome when they walk through our school doors?
When you show kindness for one another at school, you are also showing pride in our school. When everyone makes a commitment to kindness, the attitude of the entire school can change. When one person is nice to another, kindness seems to spread.
Our school is a place with many different cultures, religions, personalities, ideas, and opinions, but kindness can bring people together. When we all practice kindness every day, the idea of kindness becomes more than just a thought. Kindness becomes an action. Once it becomes an action, it becomes a part of the you and it will be easier and easier to be kind.
Remember that no act of kindness is ever wasted and the best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer up someone else.
Showing kindness at school can prevent a lot problems. Strive to be a kind person and be proud of yourself each day. Make decisions that show that you are a leader that cannot be pressured to do the wrong thing. It starts with you.
When all students do the right thing no matter what, always showing kindness in their actions, our school will be a safe and better place to learn.
Students purchase your wristband for MLEC’s Dress Down Day brought to you by your PTSA. Dress Down Day will take place this Friday, January 29th listen for more details, rules, and regulations. Wristbands are $2.
Students are reminded to come to school each day on time! Students if you are absent, remember that 5 unexcused absences in an annual course, or 3 unexcused absences in a semester course, will result in a no credit (N/C) for the class. MLEC is in a block schedule, therefore 5 unexcused absences in an annual course WILL result in 10 unexcused absences and WILL result in a no credit being issued, and 3 unexcused absences in a semester course will equal six absences and also result in a no credit. Remember if you are absent you MUST bring a note and receive an admit to excuse your absence. Admits are issued in the Student Services Office prior to the start of school each day and during lunch and after school in the Main Office with Ms. Wellman. Do not be absent unnecessarily.
Students arriving tardy to school must sign in at the Tardy Center. Students with excessive tardies will be required to serve an Administrative Detention. BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!!
The Principal’s Word of the Day is
VISIONARY (VIZH uh NER ee) n a dreamer; someone with impractical goals or ideas about the future. My uncle was a visionary, not a businessman; he spent too much time tinkering with his antigravity generator and not enough time working in his plumbing business.
Visionary can also be an adjective. A visionary proposal is an idealistic and usually impractical proposal.
