Students needing ½ credit courses, for credit recovery, please see your counselor for adult education forms.

Adult education starts October 19, 2009. 

K.C.K.C.- The Key Club Kick-Off Conference will be held this Saturday, Oct. 3rd at Belen Jesuit Preparatory School located at 500 SW 127 Avenue from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm.  All Key Club members are encouraged to participate in this even, however, you must arrange for your own transportation.  Take $5 for breakfast and lunch.

Key Club members, be reminded, Club Pictures are on Thursday, Oct 8th in the auditorium after school. Wear your club colors (royal blue and gold) and your tap cards.

The Kiwanis of Greater Miami Lakes is sponsoring a Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF drive to help the children of Uruguay.  If you would like to participate in this Kiwanis activity, please sign up at the next Key Club meeting Wednesday afternoon in Room F110.

Attention all HOSA members! Listen up for important deadlines- $20 payment for the HOSA breakfast is due Monday, October 19th to Mrs. Pierce in room A102.  $130 Camp Kulaqua payment is due Friday, October 9th to Ms. Evans in room A125. Remember only twelve members will be chosen, first come first serve!

The National Technical Honor Society will meet on Thursday October 1, 2009 at 2:40 pm in room A102.

The Bible Group presents the Timothy Generation. It meets every Thursday, right after school in room B-210. Refreshments will be served.

The Hispanic Heritage Committee is having a door contest, as part of our Hispanic Heritage Celebration. The winner will be announced on October 12, and will receive a pastelito party through 2nd period homeroom. All doors must be completed by October 8, in order to enter the contest. Our theme is "Embracing MLEC's Hispanic Roots, As We Welcome Our Cultural Diversity".

A mandatory FBLA meeting will be held on Thursday, Oct. 1 @ 2:40 pm in room E113.     We will be electing 2009-2010 Officers and welcoming new members.  All new members & former members’ applications must be turned in by Wednesday morning.    If you expressed an interest in joining FBLA doing Club Rush week, YOU MUST SUBMIT AN APPLICATION BY WEDNESDAY, OCT. 30.

Anyone who received a Future Educators of America application during the club fair and has not returned it to Ms. Corbett in E209, please do so as soon as possible.

To those students who signed up to participate in the Hispanic Heritage Show,
There will be a final and mandatory audition on Wednesday Sept. 30, 2009. All groups that
are participating must attend and bring their completed music.

S.H.A.N. Students Helping Animals in Need will be having their first meeting in C cafeteria Wednesday, October 7th immediately after school from 2:30 - 3:45. If you have not signed up for S.H.A.N., you are more than welcome to attend the meeting.

Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Debate Team please report to room E-215, on 10-06-09, at 2:35 pm.  Also, all previous and interested students that would like to become members of the African American Club, please report to room E-215, on 10-07-09, at 2:35pm.

Students are reminded to come to school each day on time! Students if you are absent, remember that 5 unexcused absences in an annual course, or 3 unexcused absences in a semester course, will result in a no credit (N/C) for the class.  MLEC is in a block schedule, therefore 5 unexcused absences in an annual course WILL result in 10 unexcused absences and WILL result in a no credit being issued, and 3 unexcused absences in a semester course will equal six absences and also result in a no credit.  Remember if you are absent you MUST bring a note and receive an admit to excuse your absence. Admits are issued in the Student Services Office prior to the start of school each day and during lunch and after school in the Main Office with Ms. Wellman. Do not be absent unnecessarily
Students arriving tardy to school must sign in at the Tardy Center. Students with excessive tardies will be required to serve an Administrative Detention.  BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!!
