Class of 2010 Senior Class Shirt Design Contest will end TODAY, November 14th. Make sure your submission includes the school name, 2010 and Seniors. E-mail your shirt design to jepheryfrancis@yahoo.com . Shirt design voting will take place on Monday, November 24th, 2008 at the Principal’s Patio during both lunches. Bring your school ID to vote!
This is a “shout out” to all students of Miami Lakes Educational Center. The HOSA club will be offering a workshop to learn about diet, exercise and leading a healthy life style. The workshop will be held in Ms. Algaze’s room A127 on Monday November 20 @2:30. This workshop is important for everyone. Please attend. Healthy snacks will be supplied.
Deadline for all African American Club dues is 11-30-08 at 2:30pm.
Once again, The Interact Club is participating in the Salvation Army Holiday Angel network. As such, Interact asks that staff, students, and parents help bring joy to the life of an underprivileged or foster child. Times are hard for in this tough economic situation; but think of the bit of happiness you can bring a child, with one small gift. There will be AUDITIONS for MLEC's Comedy Show "MLEC NIGHT LIVE" Wednesday Nov. 19th @ 2:30PM in the Auditorium. Actors, comedians, and writers are encouraged to audition. Also, if you would like to compete in this year's District Thespian Competitions in performance or design you must audition on this date.
Sports club has started. It is on Mondays and Wednesdays. Those students who would like to join stop by the gym and see Ms. Arterburn.

The Alumni Association of Princeton University is sponsoring the Princeton Prize in Race Relations. This is open to all high school students involved in any activity that is helping to improve race relations in their school and community. This competition was created to identify and commend young people who are working to increase understanding and mutual respect among all races. The deadline date is January 31, 2009. Students may also be eligible for a $1000 cash award.

Students are reminded to come to school each day on time! Students if you are absent, remember that 5 unexcused absences in an annual course, or 3 unexcused absences in a semester course, will result in a no credit (N/C) for the class. Remember if you are absent you MUST bring a note and receive an admit to excuse your absence. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NOTE TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER. Admits are issued in the Student Services Office prior to the start of school each day and during lunch and after school in the Main Office with Ms. Cheron. Do not be absent unnecessarily.
Students arriving tardy to school must sign in at the Tardy Center in the C Cafeteria. Students with excessive tardies will be required to serve an Administrative Detention. BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!! If you have any questions regarding attendance please speak to Mrs. Forteza in the Student Services Office.
