Students our Annual United Way Campaign has begun. Please remember to bring your donation every EVEN DAY to your 2nd Period HOMEROOM. Teachers submit your class’s collection envelope to the Activities Office by 10AM.
Additionally Penny Wars will be taking place between Classes and Academies during both lunches!
Rules of the Penny War
The GOAL of the Penny War is to collect as many PENNIES as possible in your jar and put as many NON-PENNIES in everyone else’s jar.
Each team has its own container. Money is worth “points” based on its monetary value.
Pennies = 1 point Nickels = 5 points Dimes = 10 points Quarters = 25 points |
1 Dollar = 100 points 5 Dollars = 500 points 10 Dollars = 1,000 points 20 Dollars = 2,000 points |
Pennies give your team positive points while nickels, dimes, quarters, and any dollar bills take points AWAY from the team’s total. Therefore, you want to put PENNIES in YOUR TEAM’S jar (positive points) & nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills (negative points) in the jars of OTHER TEAMS.
Whichever Class/Academy has THE MOST POINTS at the end of the Penny Drive, wins!!
TODAY IS CLASS WARS!!!! Bring your donation to lunch!

Students are reminded to come to school each day on time! Students if you are absent, remember that 5 unexcused absences in an annual course, or 3 unexcused absences in a semester course, will result in a no credit (N/C) for the class. Remember if you are absent you MUST bring a note and receive an admit to excuse your absence. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NOTE TO YOUR HOMEROOM TEACHER. Admits are issued in the Student Services Office prior to the start of school each day and during lunch and after school in the Main Office with Ms. Cheron. Do not be absent unnecessarily.
Students arriving tardy to school must sign in at the Tardy Center in the C Cafeteria. Students with excessive tardies will be required to serve an Administrative Detention. BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!! If you have any questions regarding attendance please speak to Mrs. Forteza in the Student Services Office.
The Principal’s Word of the Day is
CONSTRUE (kun STROO) v. to interpret
The meaning of the poem, as I construed it, had to do with the love of a man for his dog.
To misconstrue is to misinterpret.
