The Principal’s Word of the Day is
STYMIE (STYE mee) v to thwart; to get in the way of; to hinder
Stymie is a golfing term. A golfer is stymied when another player’s ball lies on a direct path between his or her own ball and the cup. Off the golf course, one might be stymied by one’s boss: In my effort to make a name for myself in the company, I was stymied by my boss, who always managed to take credit for all the good things I did and to blame me for his mistakes.
