The PSAT will be administered to all 9th, 10th, and registered 11th graders Wednesday, October 17, 2007. Students are to report directly to their testing centers at 7:30 am. Remember, teachers, 1st period will be extended and no students should be dismissed until an announcement is made.
Students who are taking the PSAT Wednesday, October 17 should remember to:

Bring two sharpened No. 2 pencils
You may bring your own calculator if you wish. Scientific and graphing calculators are permitted on the mathematics section. If you do not bring your own calculator you will be supplied with a four-function calculator. Please note that cell phone calculators are NOT allowed. Also, calculators with QWERTY (typewriter-like) keypads, paper tape, as well as those that make noise or need electrical outlets are prohibited.
The Academy of Information Technology will be meeting on Tuesday, October 16, 2007 in Room E210 (Ms. Mezawi) at 2:40 pm tomorrow.
There will a 5000 Role Models of Excellent meeting on Wednesday, the 17th in Mr. O'Brien's Room E 114 at 2:40pm, all members are urged to attend.
The Music Club will meet this Wed. at 2:40 in room F-123. Mr. Oxidine needs to see all members (i.e.. new and returning).

Academy of Entrepreneurship will be meeting in Room F-117 this afternoon (TUESDAY, OCT 16) at 2:45pm.
There will be a very important meeting of the Key club n Wednesday, at 2 :45 p.m. in the Student services conference room. Membership dues are due.

Tickets for the Harvest Fest are on sale now, the Harvest Fest takes place on Thursday, October 25 from 6 – 9 pm tickets are $5. Tickets are being sold during both lunches, and in room E230.
Sign Language club will meet in room E202 on Tuesday at 2:40 pm. New members are welcome!

Students who attend 2 consecutive tutoring sessions will earn a MLEC credit card. Make sure you sign in for tutoring.
Points earned on the MLEC credit card can be use for detention passes, free lunch, and tickets to various MLEC school events!
The Literary Magazine club will be sponsoring a book drive the months of September and October. Please bring in gently used paperbacks. You may drop them off in room E215 or to your English teacher to forward to Mrs. Krane. The books will be used to furnish the English teachers with personal libraries. Thank you.
The Math Club is offering tutoring for all students Mondays and Thursdays from 2:40 to 3:40 in room E119.
Oct. 19 is the Diabetes-Health Screening in our gym. Students will receive 3 credits on the new MLEC credit card for participating in the health screening." Please bring in your permission form so our Health Academy Students can do the preliminary paperwork to be prepared for the one-day screening.

Students not testing on Wednesday, don’t forget that our attendance rules have changed. DO NOT BE ABSENT unnecessarily. This is NOT a free day for students; school is in session as usual. Unexcused absences will reflect on your abilities to be a part of school events!
Students arriving tardy to school will be required to serve an Administrative Detention after the 2nd tardy. Administrative Detentions are served on Fridays, from 2:40-3:40 p.m. Students who do not go to the Tardy Center are still marked tardy to school by their homeroom teachers. Students with excessive tardies and absences will be referred to the Administration and face disciplinary action and suspension from participation in school activities. BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!!
Every nine weeks, students with perfect attendance, as well as NO TARDIES, will have the opportunity to win various prizes.
Students with perfect attendance for the entire school year will have the opportunity to win a very special prize. Students will be required to have been in school on time throughout the school year.
