ALL NINTH GRADE STUDENTS AND ALL TENTH GRADE STUDENTS WILL BE ADMIISTERED THE 2007 FCAT READING AND THE FCAT MATHEMATICS TESTS. THE FCAT READING WIL BE ADMINISTERED MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH AND THE FCAT MATHEMATICS WILL BE ADMINISTERED TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27TH,
STUDENTS WHO MUST RETAKE ONE OR BOTH PARTS OF THE FCAT WILL ALSO TAKE THE READING ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH AND/OR THE MATHEMATICS TEST ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27TH.
ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6TH, ALL NINTH GRADERS AND ALL TENTH GRADERS WILL TAKE THE NRT AND ALL ELEVENTH GRADERS WILL TAKE THE FCAT SCIENCE TEST.
STUDENTS, YOUR TEACHERS HAVE RECEIVED THE LIST OF YOUR ROOM ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE TEST. THE LIST IS PRINTED ON CORAL COLORED PAPER. ALL STUDENTS ARE TO REPORT DIRECTLY TO TESTING ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, AND TUESDAY, MARCH 6TH.
In our never ending quest to encourage good student attendance and high academic achievement the MLEC faculty and staff are proud to announce the following incentives throughout the FCAT testing period.
9th and 10th graders in attendance for all FCAT tests, Feb. 26th, 27th, and March 6th will be entered in a drawing to win 4 MLEC yearbooks or 4 MP3 players.
11th grade students in attendance Feb 26th and 27th and who take the FCAT Science Test March 6th will be eligible for a drawing to win 2 Prom Tickets, 2 Yearbooks, 2 MP3 Players, and 2 iTune Gift Cards.
Juniors scoring LEVEL 3 or above on the Science FCAT will be entered into a drawing for a laptop to be awarded during the 1st school assembly next school year.
12th graders who are present Feb 26th, 27th, and March 6th will be entered into a drawing for 2 MLEC Yearbooks or 2 Prom Tickets.
SENIORS – ONLY Seniors who attend the Tuesday, Feb. 27th Graduation Orientation will be eligible to receive surplus graduation tickets. Graduates will receive 4 tickets. The Grad Orientation will be held during the school day. During the orientation Seniors’ Cap & Gown orders will be taken. Make sure you are present in order to place your order and receive other important information about upcoming senior events and graduation. (Cap & Gown rental is $20)
To all juniors, you can get your Detention Credit Card by attending tutoring in Science on Saturday. All you need to do is attend a 2 hour session this Saturday, February 24, 2007. You must sign-in and complete the entire 2 hour session. The hours are 8am – 10am or 10 am to 12 noon. Breakfast will be included.
Don’t forget tutoring is available in all subject areas of the FCAT and also AP tutoring. This is your last opportunity to obtain tutoring for the test that determines your high school completion.

ATTENTION ALL ECOLOGY MEMBERS AND THOSE INTERESTED IN FINDING OUT ABOUT THE ECOLOGY CLUB AND COMMUNITY SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES. THERE WILL BE AN IMPORTANT ECOLOGY CLUB MEETING THIS THURSDAY AFTER SCHOOL AT 2:40 PM IN ROOM E224. THE WORLD PREMIER OF THE AWARD WINNING FILM "SAVE OUR PLANET" PRODUCED BY OUR VERY OWN MLEC STUDENT MIGUEL MORENO WILL BE SHOWN AT THE ECOLOGY CLUB MEETING IN E224.
Key Club Meeting will take place next Thursday, March 1st, 2007 in the E Conference Room in the Student Services Office.
SENIORS ATTENDING THE SENIOR BRUNCH ARE REMINDED TO BRING THEIR FIELD TRIP FORM IN ORDER TO BOARD THE BUS. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND THIS TRIP WITH OUT YOUR PARENT PERMISSION FORM. SEE MS. EVAN (E228) or MS. CASTRO (F106) FOR MORE INFORMATION.
