- The principal’s word for the day is TOUT (tout). TOUT is a verb that means to praise highly; to brag publicly about. Here is an example of TOUT used in a sentence:
Advertisements touted the chocolate-flavored toothpaste as getting rid of your sweet tooth while saving your teeth.
- Teachers and students if you still have School Climate Survey forms please send them to Student Services by the end of today.
- Teachers progress reports go out tomorrow. The six period day schedule is printed on the back of the memo that was attached to your blank progress reports. Please post it or write it on the board for students to see.
- Sophomores make sure that you have gotten your room assignments for the FCAT Writing test Tuesday, February 7, 2006. Teachers if you need a new copy of your list, please sent a note to Ms. Lawrence in E238.
- Teachers you should have received via email a listing of relocations for the FCAT Writing+ test. If you have trouble accessing your email, please contact Ms. Lawrence for a hard copy. Classes using rooms E201 to E215 and E237 to E230 will be relocated for the test.
- The senior Cap & Gown assembly has been canceled and will be rescheduled.
- Juniors the results of your vice presidential election will be announced this afternoon. Candidates please take down all posters and flyers by the end of second lunch today.
- Seniors – This is a reminder that Dr. Burrus from the Miami Dade Honors College will be here today from until 10 AM in Cafeteria C. If you have a 3.5 or higher GPA, come by the CAP office for a pass to hear this important information.
- PTSA is still selling advance tickets for the Dade county youth fair and advance tickets for the February 10th valentine’s day dance. Tickets are on sale before and after school and during lunch - dance tickets are $5. There will be raffles for some great prizes at the dance so get your tickets early.
- Key Club will have its monthly meeting tomorrow at 2:40 in Ms. J. Collin’s office in student services.
- The debate club will be meeting tomorrow in room E205 at 2:35 pm.
- The drafting club is meeting Thursday in room A104 at 2:35.
- There will be a DECA meeting Thursday @ 2:35 pm in room A118
- Valentine’s Day personality pictures will be taken today in the auditorium until 12:30 p.m. by appointment only! All appointments have been filled. Teachers-all students who made appointments have an appointment card with a signature.

- The African American Read-in will take place next Monday, February 6th. After reading during our reading block students should write a summary on a strip of colored paper about an African American author or on a book or article they have read with an African American theme. These strips will then be linked in a chain and displayed through out the school.
