- The Principal’s word for the day is intrinsic (in trin sik). Intrinsic is an adjective that means part of the essential nature of something or inherent. Here is an example of intrinsic used in a sentence:
Larry's intrinsic boldness was always getting him in trouble.
- Leadership team - there will be a curriculum council meeting today in the principal's conference room.
- PTSA is selling advance tickets for the Dade county youth fair and advance tickets for the February 10th valentine’s day dance. Tickets are on sale before and after school and during lunch - dance tickets are $5.
- Auditions for the 2006 African American history show will begin next week Monday, January 30th and Wednesday, February 1st; so get your performances ready. Remember to make sure that all performances are relevant. Last year’s show was amazing---let’s make this one even better.
- Auditions to be in MLEC's first production of "15 minutes of fame" are this week. "15 minutes of fame" is a variety show that will include comedy sketches, bands, singers, dancers and other performers. This is not a competition. Come and be prepared to audition on January 25th and 26th at 2:40pm in the auditorium.
- The Class of 2006 prom committee will be meeting after school in room E111 all this week.
- The Math Club- Mu Alpha Theta (MAӨ) will be providing SAT math prep this week today thru Friday after school for about an hour. See Mr. Fernandez for more information.
- The Black History club will meet today after school in room E237 with Mr. Urrusuno. All members must be present. Brain bowl fees are due from those members who have yet to pay.
- Key Club will have its monthly meeting next week Wednesday
- The Drafting Club is meeting next Thursday, February 2nd in room A104 at 2:35.
