The principal’s word for the day is mellifluous (muh lif loo us). Mellifluous is an adjective that means sweetly flowing. Mellifluous comes from the Greek words meaning "honey flowing." We use the word almost exclusively to describe voices, music, or sounds that flow sweetly, like honey. Here is an example of mellifluous used in a sentence:
Melanie's clarinet playing was mellifluous.

PTSA will be selling advance tickets for the Miami-Dade County Youth Fair and advance tickets for the February 10th valentine’s day dance. Tickets will go on sale today January 23rd before and after school and during lunch dance tickets are $5.
Auditions for the 2006 African-American History show will begin next week Monday, January 30th and Wednesday, February 1st; so get your performances ready. Remember to make sure that all performances are relevant. Last year’s show was amazing---let’s make this one even better.
The next Spring Play - Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing will hold auditions and call backs for all male roles today, January 23rd in the auditorium. Bring a monologue or ca old reading will be given out for you.
Auditions to be in MLEC's first production of 15 Minutes of Fame are this week. 15 Minutes of Fame is a variety show that will include comedy sketches, bands, singers, dancers and other performers. This is not a competition. Come and be prepared to audition on January 25 and 26 at 2:40 pm in the auditorium.
HIV/AIDS peer educators will meet today in room F118 at 2:30. It is important that all members attend. Anyone wishing to become a peer educator is welcomed to join at this time. Don't miss the new training class. "Be a peer and educate"
