Academic
Students please inform your parents that there is a free class through the Parent Academy that will give them an overview of the different advanced academic programs that are offered in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. This particular class will be held this evening December 5th from 6:30 until 8 p.m. at American Senior High.
Teachers please be sure that the mid term exam schedule is posted in you classrooms. Students-your essay exams are as follows: Today periods 1 and 5, tomorrow periods 2 and 6, Wednesday period 3, and Thursday period 4. Then you have Friday and the weekend to begin studying for your objective exams.
Students please visit the media center or your local book store and pick up a copy of the Principal’s book of the month. The book for December is James Patterson’s The Lake House.
Clubs/Classes
Seniors please remember that community service hours need to be turned in to Ms. Jessie Collins in student services by December 15th if you plan to participate in your remaining senior activities. Before winter break would also be a great time to take care of any financial obligations you might have.
Santa grams are still on-sale for $2 each. This small gift includes a hand-written message and candy. You can come to E228 before or after school or the F cafeteria during both lunches to purchase one.
MLEC’s first Winter Carnival will take place this Friday, December 9th. Your tickets from the Harvest Fest are still good. Tickets are still on sale. See Mr. Moffi in E230.
Sponsors – there is an important meeting for all clubs that are participating in the Winter Carnival this Wednesday at 2:40 in the auditorium. Please make sure that your club is represented.
FBLA members-you have two very important meetings next week. You need to be present at both meetings today and Wednesday in E113. It is time to prepare for district competitions.
The sign language club will be meeting tomorrow after school in room E221 immediately after school.

Miscellaneous
Once again we would like to congratulate Ms. Krystal Mederos for being published in an anthology published by Creative Communications. Krystal is now a published author and we are all very proud of her. Congratulations Krystal!
The Millennium teachers & students would like to thank the teachers who participated in Miami Lakes Educational Center first academy shadowing day. They would also like to thank the administrative staff and academy leaders for their support in making this a great success.
