The PSAT will be given here at MLEC - Wednesday Oct. 12. This is a great opportunity for 9th - 10th and 11th grade students to take a practice college entrance exam in preparation for the real test that counts for college admissions and scholarships. This could mean scholarship money for 11th grade students who score high enough on this exam through the national merit scholarship program. The exam is given free to all 10th graders; however there is a small charge for 9th and 11th grade students. See Ms. Mathos for more information.
Clubs/Classes
Club sponsors, next week is club rush week; please meet with your returning members to prepare to recruit new members.
Seniors-senior parent night will be next Thursday, August 25th.
Freshmen- if anyone is interested in running for the Class of 2009 President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasurer see Mr. Moffi in E230 for an application. Applications will also be available at orientation tomorrow and Wednesday.
Cheerleading tryouts are today @ 2:35.
All returning members of Future Educators of America need to meet today in F106 to prepare for Club Rush Week.
DECA is having a meeting for all returning members next Tuesday, August 23rd in A118.
The GSA club will meet this Wednesday @ 2:40 in E102G.
Drama Club will have its first meeting this Wednesday at 2:35.
All returning FBLA members need to meet Wednesday in E113 after school with Ms. G. Williams to prepare for Club Rush Week.
There will be a meeting of current HIV/AIDS Peer Educators club members this Wednesday at 2:30 in room F118. We need to make plans for club rush week. Bring your ideas and be on time.
Jaguars, remember activities buses are not running yet so make the necessary transportation arrangements if you plan to stay for any meetings.

Jaguars tomorrow is Twin or Clone Day. Wednesday is Heritage Day. Thursday is Class Color Day Friday is Jaguar Pride Day so wear that Teal and Black or Jaguar print. And don’t forget about the Back 2 School 80’s style dance-tickets go on sale today during both lunches.
