A Moment in Black History
Archie A. Alexander, architectural engineer and former governor of Virgin Islands, died on this day in 1958 at the age of 69. He had been appointed governor of the Virgin Islands by President Eisenhower in 1954. This coachman’s son earned an engineering degree from the State University of Iowa, where he also played football. He later became co-owner of the construction firm Alexander and Repass, with offices in New York and Washington D.C.

Administrative
Attention classroom instructors!.If you have been logged-in onto the network as "student" (username: student; password: student) you need to back up you all your important data onto a floppy disk or CD. This is very important. Those accounts have been disabled and will ultimately be deleted. If you require help with the back-up process notify Mr. Mixon via e-mail and he will get you some assistance.
Teachers and departments: any unauthorized wireless device that are plugged into the network is in violation of Miami-Dade County Public Schools Security Policy. If you are using such a device, it should be disconnected immediately. See Mr. Mixon to discuss future options. All unauthorized devices found connected to the network will be removed. This is in keeping with Miami-Dade County Public School policy and will be enforced by school administration.
Jaguars, ID pictures are currently being taken in the “C” cafeteria from 7:30am until 11am.
Students, please return your overdue books as soon as possible. You may recheck them out if you need to.
Academic
Seniors, remember that Cap & Gown payments must be made before 1:00! Today is the last day to make payments on campus for $21.
Attention faculty, staff, and students. The FCAT+ writing assessment will be administered to all grade ten students during second period on Tuesday, February 8, 2005. Students are to report directly to their testing rooms on Tuesday.

Clubs/Classes
Seniors, your senior breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday, February 23rd. To purchase your ticket, you must check with Ms. Jerome (the school treasurer) beginning today to clear any financial obligations.
Auditions for the Black History Show will be held Wednesday in the auditorium. To audition, you must sign up with Mr. U. in E237. If you do not sign up, you do not audition.
Juniors, to receive your ring at the ring ceremony, your final payments must be made by February 11th. No more payments will be taken on campus. You must contact Herff Jones to make arrangements.
There will be an extremely important HIV/Aids Peer Counselors meeting Monday, February 7th at 2:30 in F118.
