Julia Alvarez is a New York born Dominican author. She is the author of How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents. Having spent the majority of her life in the United States, Alvarez considers herself an American, yet her writing bridges the realms of Latina and American culture. The Culinary Arts Cafeteria will be closed Thursday, September 30th, Friday, October 1st, and Monday, October 4th due to preparations for our SACS/COE visit.

Attention all class officers: there will be an important Basketball Jam meeting tomorrow in E204 at 2:40.
Tomorrow Basketball Jam tryouts will be on the basketball court. Please look for your class representative when you get there. ALL students wishing to try out for the Basketball Jam must provide proof of school insurance. The insurance may be purchased from Mr. Willenborg for $9. To try out and play, you must have proof of school insurance.

Sponsors and Teachers, please remember to issue activities bus passes to those students who need them. Only issue to students who were supervised by you. If you need additional passes please let Ms. Perdomo know in advance. Students remember to get your activities bus pass from your supervising teacher or sponsor; no activities bus passes will be issued in front of the buses and please know your regular bus stop!
