This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the traditional role of the Administrative Assistant. The content includes the use of technology in the development of communication skills, higher level thinking skills, and the performance of office procedures tasks. The computer software training program used will be Microsoft Office '97.

Students are eligible to join Phi Beta Lambda, the vocational student organization for Business Technology Education. Students are also eligible for nomination (by their instructors), into the National Vocational-Technical Honor Society.

  Course Descriptions

The average length of this program is 1,050 hours, approximately 12 months, for adults attending full-time. Actual time in class is dependent upon enrollment status and length of time student requires to achieve competencies. This program contains several occupational completion points designed to prepare students for various entry level jobs within this occupational area.

This program operates on an open-entry, open-exit basis. Students may enter the program anytime during the school-year. Entrance is dependent upon space availability.
