Are There Community Service Graduation Requirements?
Yes, there are. To complete the community service graduation requirement for Miami-Dade County Public Schools, you must complete a community service project between 9th and 12th grade. No set number of service hours is required for the project unless you are working toward the Florida Academic Scholars' certificate or the Superintendent's Diploma of Distinction. In those cases, a minimum of 75 hours of service is required for each. For further information about these programs, see one of the school counselors.
You can also meet the community service requirements for graduation by successfully completing on of the following elective courses:
Voluntary School/Community Service
(0.5 credit; social studies elective)
Voluntary Public Service
(0.5 credit)

How Do I Get A Job At MLEC?
Miami Lakes Educational Center is part of the Miami-Dade County Public Schools system. While you are welcome to come to The Center and inquire about available positions, it is best for you to contact the Personnel Management and Services office at District headquarters. Not only are there more possible positions available, as they operate all public schools in the county, but you will need to go through the District office even if you only want to work at MLEC, regardless of the position you seek.
