Mission Statement

The primary mission of the Cisco Networking Academy program is to provide quality educational training designed to meet the current and future needs of the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Toward this end the following guidelines are established: assist students to choose, prepare for, enter, and be gainfully employed in the Information Technology field; offer a program which emphasizes sound fundamentals while responding to the needs of this particular industry; and provide courses to meet current and specific needs of the student and industry.

Cisco Academy


Program Outlook

Students learn to design, build and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN's) and Wide Area Networks (WAN's) with direct hands-on practices on Cisco internetworking equipment. Students who successfully complete this program will be prepared to test for the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) examination. The Academy also offers advanced classes to prepare students for the Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) exam. The program also provides supplemental training for persons previously or currently employed in the IT occupations Students are eligible to join ICA, SkillsUSA, and are also eligible to join the National Vocational Technical Honor Society.

Length of Program

The average length for the CCNA program is approximately 300 hours for adults attending part-time, two nights per week. Actual time in class is dependent upon the length of time student requires to achieve competencies.


Entrance Requirements

  • Interview by Instructor
  • Assessment in reading, math and language or possess an AA/AS or higher degree
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Fee for supplies
  • Cisco Academy Textbooks, Lab Workbooks and Engineering Journals
  • For CCNP Academy, you must first possess CCNA certification
