In order to balance the number of odd/even days in Grading Period 2 and facilitate the distribution of Grading Period 1 Report Cards we will follow an “Even Day” schedule on Friday, November 09, 2007.  Please plan accordingly.
 
Friday, November 9th at 1PM Health Connect on Wheels will be here at MLEC to assist families with access service from Medicaid and Kidcare.
 
Mix It Up on lunch day, Tues., November 13th visit www.mixitup.org for more info. Step out of your comfort zone and learn from those around us.
 
GSA will hold a meeting WEDNESDAY after school in e102g at 2:40pm.
 
This week is HOSA week! Reminder to all HOSA students, on Thursday you will attend HOSA Breakfast. Students need to dress for success. On Friday during booth lunches all the strands will be putting on a display of various Health related activities in the courtyard. Happy HOSA week Health Academy!
 
Junior Shirt Pre-Sales have resumed.  As per your votes, the color of the Junior Shirt is black with green letters outlined in white; the design has stayed the same.  Sales will take place in front of Cafeteria “F” during both lunches.  Sales will end November 8. 
A reminder: Juniors will need to wear your class shirt in order to participate in junior events and other activities.

The Sign Language Club will meet at 2:40 pm this Tuesday in room E202.
 
Students who attend 2 consecutive tutoring sessions will earn a MLEC credit card. Make sure you sign in for tutoring.
Points earned on the MLEC credit card can be use for detention passes, free lunch, and tickets to various MLEC school events!
  
The Literary Magazine club will be sponsoring a book drive the months of September and October. Please bring in gently used paperbacks. You may drop them off in room E215 or to your English teacher to forward to Mrs. Krane. The books will be used to furnish the English teachers with personal libraries. Thank you.
 
The Math Club is offering tutoring for all students Mondays and Thursdays from 2:40 to 3:40 in room E119.
AUDITIONS for the musical revue "Oh SNAP" will take place on Wednesday and Thursday Nov. 7 & 8th at 2:30PM in the Auditorium. "Oh SNAP" the musical will consist of a total of 25 songs from 9 popular musicals. Come prepared to audition with a musical piece. See Mr. Goslin in F-206 for more information.
 
ANY STUDENT INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR HOMECOMING KING OR QUEEN, HOMECOMING COURT, OR MR MRS MLEC PLEASE MR. MOFFI IN ROOM E230 FOR AN APPLICATION. APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE STRATING FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2ND.

There are a limited number of tickets and they will go fast. You can purchase your tickets starting this Friday November 2nd for $50 in Mr. Moffi’s room E230.
 
Get yours before they are all gone. 
 
Students with absences, remember if you have 5 unexcused absences in an annual course, or 3 unexcused absences in a semester course, you will receive a no credit for the class.  We are in a block schedule, therefore 5 unexcused absences in an annual course WILL result in 10 unexcused absences and WILL result in a no credit issued, 3 unexcused absences in a semester course will equal six and a no credit.  Remember if you are absent you MUST bring a note and receive an admit in student services to excuse your absence.  Do not be absent unnecessarily.  Students arriving tardy to school will be required to serve an Administrative Detention.  BE ON TIME!!! AND COME TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY!!! Students with perfect attendance for the entire school year will have the opportunity to win a very special prize. If you have any questions please speak to Mrs. Forteza.
