This is an important announcement – Teachers, please take necessary steps in order to prepare your rooms for a possible hurricane.

Count the number of computers and printers in your classroom and be prepared to give that information to Ms. Ramsey, Head Custodian.   This information will be used to determine how many bags you will need to cover these items. 

Please ensure that by the end of the day, your room/area is Hurricane prepared. Be ready to turn off and cover all electronic devices. DO NOT COVER OR TURN OFF DEVICES UNTIL NOTIFIED.

Golf – The 18 Hole Tournament scheduled for today at Redlands is in process. Event will end by the end of the school day. All other golf matches scheduled for August 28 – August 30, 2006 are canceled. All golf practice is at the discretion of the principal; please call your home school. Call courses to see if they are open.  

REQUEST FOR SCHEDULE CHANGES WILL END ON  FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1st .  STUDENT SERVICES WILL NOT TAKE ANY OTHER REQUESTS AFTER SEPTEMBER 1st.  

Calling all students interested in Drama Club!  There will be a meeting for all students interested in joining the Drama Club on Wednesday August 30th at 2:30PM. Come out and see what we are all about!

There will be AUDITIONS for MLEC's ONE ACT PLAY'S on Sept. 6th, 7th, and 8th at 2:40PM in Building F's Auditorium. Please bring with you a one minute monologue. If you do not have a monologue prepared you will be able to do a cold reading during the audition. If you have any questions please see Mr. Goslin in F-206 or the Auditorium.

There will be a Drafting Club meeting on August 30th, 2006 at 2:40P.M. in the CAD Drafting Room A-104.  During the meeting, officers will be elected.  

The Academy of Entrepreneurship Instructors will hold their first meeting of the new school year on Tuesday, August 29 in F117 at 2:45 pm.  Various matters directly related to the Academy will be discussed. If any Academy Instructor wishes to have an item included in the Agenda, please notify Mr. B as soon as possible. All Academy Instructors are urged to attend.   

IMPORTANT - Because August 31st , September 1st  and September 5th are all odd days (3 consecutives school days),  we are changing Friday, September 1st into an  EVEN day for MLEC.  

There will be a mandatory SGA meeting TODAY, Monday, August 28th, 2006, @ 2:40 pm in room E230.  The topic is the review and voting of the school constitution.  If there are any questions, please contact one of your student government officers or Mr. Moffi in room E230.  

The Miami Lakes Educational Center chapter of Future Educators of America will have its first returning members meeting this Thursday in E209. Recruitment and activities for this year will be discussed.  All returning members of FEA need to meet with Ms. Corbett-Perdomo in E209 this Thursday immediately after school.   

All returning HIV/AIDS Peer Educators will meet, Thursday, August 31st , 2006 at 2:35pm in room F118. Please be on time.

A meeting for all interested in joining the Spanish club or participating in the Hispanic Heritage Show will take place Wednesday after school in room F-207.   

SADD officers and returning members will have a meeting Wednesday, August 30th, after-school in F125.  

Every nine weeks, students with perfect attendance, as well as NO TARDIES, will have the opportunity to win an mp3 player.  There will also be other prizes every nine weeks.

Students with perfect attendance for the entire school year will have the opportunity to win a laptop computer. Students will be required to have been in school on time throughout the school year.
