Allied Health / Medical Assisting
This is one of the most rapidly expanding professions within the allied health field. The role of the skilled Medical Assistant has a status of vital importance in the medical profession. High School students will be trained both clinically and administratively to meet the demands of the medical profession. Upon completion of this program, students will be able to expand their career choice to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the college level. Clinical Practicum experiences are an integral part of this program.

Allied Health / Pharmacy Aide Technician
The Community Pharmacy Aide Program is designed to prepare high school students for employment in hospital or retail pharmacies. The program focuses on broad, transferable skills and stresses the understanding of the Health Care industry. Students will achieve a high level of technology that is so critical in today’s health care job market. Students are expected to continue their education to become Pharmacy Technicians and Pharmacist. Clinical practicum experiences are integral part of this program.

Allied Health / Physical Therapy Aid
Transport patients to proper location according to the daily time schedule utilizing all necessary safety precautions in all areas of the hospital as requested.   Transport, transfer, and/or assist patient in and out of wheelchair, bed, tilt table, or stretcher safely and without undue discomfort to patient.   Assist in scheduling inpatients and outpatients as needed.   Arrange schedule so patients will arrive in the department for their scheduled visit: delays will be reported to the therapists no later than the scheduled time of expected arrival.   Assist patients as necessary for transfers, dressing and toileting.   Assist in the maintenance, care, and cleaning of equipment and supplies. Demonstrate knowledge of and utilizes good body mechanics. Understand oxygen procedures in transport of patients.   Transport/deliver equipment, records, mail/messages in a timely manner as requested or according to daily schedule.


Dental Aide
Dental Assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of quality oral health care and are valuable members of the dental care team. Dental Assistants must have strong communication skills, enjoy working with their hands as well as their minds and desire a career with responsibility. The Dental Assistant performs many tasks requiring both interpersonal and technical skills. Dental Assistants are eligible to apply to a community college in order to transfer into a Dental Hygiene program. A clinical practicum experience is an integral part of this program.

Fire Fighter / First Responder
Fire fighters work in a variety of settings, including urban and suburban areas, airports, chemical plants, other industrial sites, and rural areas like grasslands and forests. They have also assumed a range of responsibilities, including emergency medical services. Fire fighters clean and maintain equipment, conduct practice drills and fire inspections, and participate in physical fitness activities. They also prepare written reports on fire incidents and review fire science literature to keep abreast of technological developments and changing administrative practices and policies.

Nursing Assistant
The Pre-Nursing program is designed to prepare high school students for employment as a Nursing Assistant. The Nursing Assistant program offers a foundation of knowledge and skills needed to work in today’s job market. This program serves as a career ladder for advanced nursing jobs such as Patient Care Technician, Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse. Career opportunities are available in hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, long-term facilities and home health agencies. Clinical practicum experiences are an integral part of this program.
