Engineering
The purpose of
this program is to provide students with a foundation of knowledge and
technically oriented experiences in the study of the applications of
engineering and its effect upon our lives and the choosing of an
occupation. This program focuses on transferable skills and stresses,
understanding and demonstration of the technical tool machines,
instruments, materials, processes and systems in business and industry.
Forensic Science
The purpose of
this program is to prepare students for employment in the field of criminalities
with Law Studies or Criminal Studies as sub-strands in the 11th and
12th grades. The content includes, but is not limited to, working
knowledge of all basic tenets in crime scene technology for the criminal studies
sub-strand. The Law Studies content includes, but is not limited to,
introduction to criminology as well as criminal justice, constitutional law and
the legal system and parole and probation. The program focuses on providing a
basic understanding of the legal system.
Journalism
The purpose of
this program is to provide students with practical experience in the production
of print and electronic journalistic media. the content includes, but is not
limited to, extensive writing process strategies, emphasizing those unique to
journalism. The other topics include production skills for various media; the
history and ethics of journalism; applications and issues in photojournalism;
organization and management techniques relates to product of journalistic media;
use of technology; analysis of journalistic media; and careers in journalism.
